Oceanfront and very private, this recently built cottage on the Atlantic side of central Eleuthera nestles on the very northern end of Double Bay, where a white sand beach extends for three miles, and where most of the other homes are large estates. In addition to the surf rolling ashore steps from the cottage and gorgeous sunrises over the Atlantic, Blue Turtle Cottage is outfitted with all the key amenities (including a very comfortable bed, a bathroom with a rain shower and double sinks, a great little open concept kitchen, a propane barbecue, excellent air conditioning and fans, a very handy large capacity washer/dryer, fast WiFi, and a newly installed and excellent generator to completely eliminate the nuisance of regional power outages). The owner was communicative, helpful and responsive before and during our stay.
We loved everything about Blue Turtle Cottage, and found it perfect for getting away from it all.

My girlfriend & I stayed at Blue Turtle Cottage for 10 days, and it was incredible! The cottage is directly on the water and adjacent to the most beautiful pink sand beaches of Double Bay. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves each night after gazing at the stars from the deck. The cottage’s caretaker, Wade, owns “Da Coch Hut” which is a must visit for a fresh conch salad—definitely the island’s best. There’s a great farm stand nearby called Eleuthera Island Farms for groceries and a short drive from the cottage on a local road is a great restaurant & bar called Bougainvillea which serves up delicious dinner and drinks (order a Ti Ponch or Mojito + a burger or lobster tail at the bar with Ricardo, when you don’t feel like cooking). There is a non-profit sailing, wind surfing, and kiteboarding school nearby. I enjoyed some awesome diving, Spearfishing and all of the activities I enjoy here in California, but in the warm Caribbean water. We can’t wait to go back next year!

We absolutely loved Blue Turtle cottage, it was so peaceful and the cottage was exactly as described. The beach was amazing, although it is rocky right out front, there are miles of beach to explore to the left and right. We swam using water shoes right out front and found a beautiful cove to the right about 3 minute walk with no rocks. We wanted peace and quiet and Blue Turtle Cottage provided that! Linda was so responsive and provided the most helpful guide, not only for the cottage, but for the Island as well. We should have taken her suggestion for a rental car company! The guide details the Eleuthera Island exactly as it is, in it’s perfectly natural, beautiful, unrefined state. We will definitely return and cannot wait to visit Blue Turtle cottage again. Blue turtle cottage was the perfect cabin for our week on Eleuthera! It was the perfect size for us and the beach was unbelievable! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to enjoy our 20th anniversary and we will definitely be back! Thank you again for your hospitality! We love it!
